PES Ultrafiltration Membrane
FiltMem PES series widely used in water purification of water plants, seawater desalination pretreatment and RO/NF system pretreatment.
High-Performance Internal Pressure PES ultrafiltration membrane
FiltMem PES ultrafiltration (UF) membrane utilizes Reverse Thermally Induced Phase Separation (RTIPS) technology, ensuring high flux and anti-compaction properties with a gradient sponge pore structure.
The PES UF series specifically engineered for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, RO pretreatment, and biopharma process applications. With excellent permeability, anti-fouling properties, and broad chemical tolerance, this module ensures reliable performance and long operational life in demanding environments.

Features
- Gradient sponge structure, dense inner layer combined with a loose intermediate support layer enables high flux and resistance to compaction.
- Strong acid/alkali resistance (pH tolerance: 1-14) and high chlorine tolerance (up to 250 ppm residual chlorine).
- Hydrophilic modification via blending technology reduces fouling adhesion.
- Narrow pore size distribution with a most probable pore size of 20 nm, delivering excellent virus retention, particularly suited for drinking water safety applications.
- Pure water flux ≥800 LMH (0.1 MPa, 25°C), 30% higher than traditional internal pressure membranes.
- The membrane fiber tensile strength ≥6 N, capable of meeting the demands of high-pressure operation and high-intensity backwashing requirements.
- Available in multiple inner diameter specifications (0.75/1.15 mm, 0.9/1.4 mm) to accommodate varying turbidity and viscosity requirements in raw water treatment.
Applications
- Municipal wastewater treatment and reuse
- Industrial effluent treatment (enhancing the purity of process water and treating various industrial effluents)
- Biopharma fermentation broth clarification
- RO/NF system pretreatment
- Cooling tower water recycling
- Food & Beverage Industry (product clarity, concentration, and microbial safety)

Electron Micrograph of PES UF Membrane
The membrane features a distinctive three-phase gradient sponge structure, with the densest layer at the inner and a more open outer protective layer.
- Unique Gradient Sponge-like Three-Phase Structure
- The central section exhibits the highest porosity, while the inner layer presents the densest configuration
- Inner layer(separation layer): Pore diameters predominantly range between 20-30 nm
- The outer layer (protective layer): Features open pores of approximately 200 nm in diameter
